Default exhaust question..please help

I got a set of vance and hines slash cut slip on mufflers from a friend. They were going to go on his '06 road glide but decided not to..I installed them on my '97 road king..after riding it I notice a slight hesitation on takeoff..these mufflers don't have baffles. Could that cause this or do I need to have my carb tuned to these mufflers.

Sounds like you might have to tune the carb.

Any suggestions on what to look for? Im not very familiar with carb work. I've researched some things and it doesn't look too hard to rejet the carb myself..will the plugs be burning different? (Color of plug?, excessive fuel smell?

If it is heavy black, you are burning to rich. Generally if they a burning clean the tips will be white.
