Yea I'm sure it's not the cut gear sound you hear when in first gear. I think the noise is always there, but can be heard more when idling down (clutch pulled in and no noise from the pipes).

2 months out of warranty so I think I'll see what the dealer has to say. Not holding my breath.

Baker bearing fit my 07 perfectly. Not sure about 09 though.

Seems to be a common "wear item" on the twin cams.
Update: Just talked to the dealer and Pastor John...You are the winner!!!!
It's the IPB and they are trying to get HD to cover it under warranty even though I am out by 2 months.

Also asked them to put the SE Comp in while they were at it.

Oh one more thing, they had to order the bearing, think maybe they have been replacing a few of these?

Hey Pastor John, did you say you've had two bearings replaced on your 2011 Ultra? How many miles you got on that bike that you've had two of them replaced?

Are they changing the inner primary bearing and the race or just the bearing? Usually, the reason the bearing is making noise is because the race has walked out into the primary bearing. I suppose the bearing can go **** up without help from the race but most I have seen went bad because the race walked. I would have them replace both while they are at it. See if you can get them to spring for the SnS tapered race; it would be worth it even if you had to pay for the part. At least take a look at the race and see if it appears to have move outward. If it h has moved and not replaced, the new bearing won't last long.

More than likely the inner primary bearing. Get the Baker part. Three hour install. $50.

My son just did his for that amount and three hours. He took bar stock (smoothed the ends) and cut it to fit between the front drive sprocket and the clutch sprocket. Used a Dremel tool to cut almost through the existing bearing and hit it with a chisel and it broke into two pieces.

The one piece Baker replacement part is less $ than the three pieces you need from HD.

The dealer would want $500 more or less to replace it.

Default Tranny whine

I had a problem like that with my then newish 09 Electra Glide Classic. Sounded like a throw-out bearing in a clutch car was bad.
Under warranty, and the cost was 1200 to HD.
I bought the extended when the 2 years ran out .......

Thanks djl, I'll make sure to ask them to check the race, need to call them this morning anyways.
