What a difference a struggling economy makes. I went to my local dealer 4/10/06 to get the 10k service and the cruise checked out (last time they touched it by the way). I would be riding along at whatever speed I had set and it would suddenly start accelerating until it maxed out @ 82mph or whatever it is. Bike was under warranty but dealer couldn't find a problem and charged me an hour labor to tell me so. I wrote MoCo about the problem as I believed it was a huge safety issue and complained about the service. They wrote me back, I still have the letter, and didn't even bother with the safety aspect, but just said warranty repair was a dealer issue, goodbye. I have spent big bucks on my bike since then but only give the dealer the occasional gasket or oil filter if I need something quick. No real money for them from me. I don't even go in there except for the occasional chit I throw them. Long story short, I replaced the speed sensor myself and have not seen the problem since. They would probably treat me different now than they did back then but won't even get the chance.
