HD offers an HID upgrade. from what i understand, as long as the ballast is working properly- the draw on the electrical system is the same as a conventional bulb.
unless you do alot of night riding, i dont see the upgrade being worth it ($ wise)
I agree, save the money for chrome unless you do a lot of night riding. Just do the passing lamp modification to the wiring so you can run your high beam and passing lamp at the same time
I replaced both headlamps with HID on my roadglide. It is alot better lighting but I don't know if I would do it again. The ballasts and extra wiring take up alot of room in the fairing, the back of the bulbs are longer causing fitment issues, cost for me was about $500 (dual systems for the roadglide), AND now my radio is useless if the lights are on all I get is static from the radio! Tapes and my mp3 player are fine though.

Dawg, can you give me some more information about the mod to the wiring? That sounds like something I would want to do. Do the passing lamps stay on when you switch to low beams?
