ORIGINAL: navyman

I am sticking with Dunlop. I got 16,500 on the original rear and only replaced it as I was leaving on a 2500 mile ride. I still have the original front with 23,500 miles on it. It still has plenty of tread left.
Ditto - staying with the stockers. Got 20K out of my front and 12K on the rear.... both had alot of time left on them, but wanted to be safer than sorry. I would estimate 25K and 15K no problem had I left them on.

Put the Metzler 880 on the rear, still have the Dunlap on front. So far so good. [sm=biker2.gif]

If anyone gets Metzlers make sure they are not the ones from Brazil. They are JUNK.

I had only 1 metzler tire and that was a rear 880. Mileage was pathetic - shot at less than 6000 miles. I'm a conservative rider and ride solo with very little extra weight in the bags. The Dunlop 491 (discontinued) gives me the best mileage on the rear - 12 to14k. Front is Dunlop 402f 38 to 40k. I have a Dulop E3 on the rear with 11k on it and it still has a ways to go yet. As for the size I can squeeze a 140 on the rear on the '02 Roadglide but not enough clearance on the '00 Electraglide Classic, due to how the drive belt tracks about 3/16" closer to the tire on the '00 EG.
