In my opinion that is the best looking Ultra in the line up this year. If I were buying a new one that would definately be the color I would go with too.
Now, let me preface this by sayin' I've spent the past 10 years on Goldwings, rackin' up about 130,000 miles or so on 'em in that time. There's a certain amount of prejudice, but I think you'll be surprised in the direction.
A few years back there was NO way you'd get me on a HD - period. Honda was makin' a bullet-proof touring machine that they stood behind like the Rock of Gibralter. Fast forward to today.....Honda is quick to point out any "out of warranty" issue they think they can get away with. They had serious frame problems (all it was doing was breaking), yet they proclaimed there was "no safety issue".(?!?!) CB radios have a 1-year warranty, with or without extended warranty, as does the radio on the bike. Harley offers an extended warranty that not only includes ALL OEM radio gear, but can even be extended to the tires and rims - plus they provide payment for lodging, towing an' meals if you break down on the road. Honda doesn't even have a plan like that.
Only put about 100 miles on it today - but it was over some VERY varied road surfaces, and I say without hesitation that at low speed, the Ultra outhandled ANY Wing I've owned - period. That's not meant as a slam on Wings - it's simply putting forth my observations. It's too early to really say about high-speed manuevers, since the break-in isn't done yet.
George, I rode my 1993 Wing for 13 years & 89,500 miles before buying my Street Glide. Within the first 500 miles on the SG I knew the Wing would be history. Sold it for $2,200 less than I gave for it in `93. Can`t ask for much more than that. I have not missed it at all. The SG is actually a much more comfortable ride for me and there is no Wing that can give you the feeling a HD can when you crank on the throttle!
