start with the easy stuff take some carb cleaner to the iac there is a small hole (from the inside)ontop the throttle body and a plastic bok outside ontop the body, its a small motor that runs a pin in and out of the hole to control idol by airflow, one theroy is they get crapped up and stick after a long run.

I suppose there is no way of changing out the IAC motor without taking the whole throttle body off is there? Reading through the manual it sounds like a pain in the neck.

Take air filter off. Turn master switch to on. Cycle the run switch off and on (dont start bike) you will hear the IAC. As your cycling the IAC spray carb cleaner into the hole and you should see the plunger start to go in and out smoother. This same thing happened to me and I got this advice from on here. This little trick is by far the cheapest thing to check first. Lee

[quote=xskuzame;8639049]I know there are threads on this subject already but does anyone know how to check for intake leaks?

to answer your question ...put a fuel hose on a propane torch head so that you can aim the propane at the different intake parts...start the motor , turn on the propane (don't light it) and aim the hose at all the areas of the intake (get the hose in there real close), if the motor speeds up you have a leak...
