Interesting thread. Windshield height is certainly determined by your own height. I guess it boils down to this: which design does the best job of deflecting wind over your head and especially will stop that wind buffeting that hits the ears? It appears that Klock's has the edge, but the National Cycle VStream has also entered the market at a better price. Keep those opinions coming, especially vs. the stock Street Glide shield.

there are now 3 windsplitter shields, at least for the road glide. don't know what bike you are putting it on. i have the original 12'' and it works good for me. but i'm short. they also have a 15'' now which should work well for the taller guys. and a 9'' for the really sporty guys.

Thanks for posting Skratch. I'm going to be the proud owner of a 2012 Street Glide in a few weeks after 16 years of riding my'96 Electra Glide Standard. I'm checking out my options (literally).

I'm 6'1". I tried the Windsplitter, albeit briefly, on my 2011 SG. The Windsplitter does look good on the SG, BUT for that kind of money it needs to do more than just look good.

If you're in the 6-foot range and you wear regular sunglasses, the Windsplitter is not going to work for you. If you wear wrap-around sunglasses or motorcycle goggles AND you like the wind in your face, then the Windsplitter MAY work for you. How it works for your passenger is another story.

The bottom line is this: If you're a 6-footer, then you're gonna get wind in your face, no matter how you slice it.

I sold my Windsplitter and purchased an 8-inch Fast Aire "Aero" windshield (dark gray) with the recurve design. The "Aero" windshield has a classy look, is made of polycarabonate and costs about half the price of the Windsplitter. Plus, Jim Blackmon, the owner, is a great guy who also happens to do a lot of riding!

I love my Fast Aire "Aero" windshield.

I'm very happy with my windsplitter I put on my 2010 SG. I have the stock seat and I'm 5'9". I find that it is better than the stock shield as far as wind in my face. My stereo sounds louder too because of that lack of wind noise. Think I paid about $130 for mine. Check out the new HD catalog online they now have different sizes of windsplitter. For me, I'm happy with the 7" as it still has the low mean look I wanted with the added wind protection my stock shield didn't give me.

I am VERY happy with them!! They sound a lot better than the stock speakers and I am very happy with how they look. I know there are a lot of speaker options out there for our bikes but I must say, I would do the Boom's again without question on my next bike. I'm tempted to purchase the "new" chrome speaker trims for them that just came out.

I've been looking at them, girlfriend complains that she can't hear the radio that well at highway speeds sometimes.

The more wind noise you can cut down the better you and your girlfriend will be able to here the tunes. I know I can crank my boom speakers louder than stock with little to no distortion at the same level the stock ones started to sound not that hot. But the wind noise needs to be addressed for everything to come together.
