Agreed 100%!!!

I agree with most except I did it in reverse. I turned my 05 Classic into a SG. I have the Tour Pak and Mean City Cycles modified EG stock seat for the long hauls with wife.

I'm new to the site as well, but agree that this is the best place to get info. I've already completely disassembled the front end for a few mods and got most of my info here. Appreciate all you guys. Ride safe.

Picked-up the new Street Glide 3 months ago, joined in here, got all good advice on maintance, performance upgrades, accessories, etc.....and hope to find some riding partners.
Welcome to the site...one tip...stay out of the best model debates at least until you have over a 1000 post count.

Thumbs up

awesome. thanks for the welcomes guys. Im new to the HD forums. I didnt realize how many people were on here and how active it was. I must not have my setting right. i need to get email notes of replys. sorry im late. Wasnt trying to be an elitist... (not sure what that is) just trying to find a good forum for my new SG. Looks like i found it! Ill get used to this forum and search out the goodies.
My glide has the aftermarket seat on it already, it came with it. Much more comfy than the stock, its a brick in the **** for the passenger. lol. my kids and wife like the bigger back seat and its like 4" thick. mine is 2" lower than stock i think. im 5'10" and it fits me pretty good and still has plenty of padding.
MY First real Mod is going to be a backrest. I had no idea what was involved getting a backrest on one of these damn things. Since mine is 2010 i gotta find 09' or newer parts. I want to get a tour pack, at some point, hopefully that is 3" adjustable forward and back. I need the 4 point docking kit for an 09' or newer. 150$ seems to be the retail price. i gotta find em cheaper. Gotta pay sales tax b4 any of that though lol.
Thanks again for the welcome. Ill be around here a while.

btw mine is a 2010 Scarlet Red SG with 6100 miles (when i bought it from a buddy) . Only mods are the tour seat and they lowered the front end 1/2".

Don't hang around this forum too much if you want to save money. The need for modifications to your bike is very contagious and these guys have it bad. Stick around and they'll show you how to feed the addiction on a budget at the same time they're showing you what happens when the addiction runs wild.

Great color choice.

Welcome. The best thing you can put on a new bike is miles.
Now get out and ride.
