because I believe fairing vs no fairing is the biggest issue here between FLHR and FLHX?

I don’t like how far away the gauges are on the RG. Owning one myself, not a fan of it. Hence why I revived this old *** thread.

The Street Glide has given me zero issues as far as buffeting. I can ride it hard amd for long days and have stacked 22k miles in under two years. It's been though 14 states, and that was the first year. 800 mile days, 1200 mile weekends. It's a great touring platform. If you go the Road King route, get a windshield.

As far as whether the M8 is worth upgrading for, that's subjective. You'll have to answer if spending 30k on on new bike is worth it.

And yes, use the search function, which you clearly did. I'd have started a thread instead of revivong one from 10 years ago.
