For all you Garmin fans out there, a new North America map update is available. The new map version is 2012.20...
If you get an error telling you there is not enough room on the Zumo to install the update, go to the link below and remove the files listed to make enough space for the full map update. I highly suggest you do not merely delete these files, cut and paste them to a folder on your computer in case you do something wrong and can replace them if necessary in the event you remove the wrong files.
Don't forget to install the map update to your computer as well. The GPS and the computer need the same map version to create routes on the computer and upload them to the GPS without problems. Surf the www.zumoforums.com website and you can read more on this. Don't take my word for it! What the hell do I know...
Ride safe!

Reason: typo
I seem to go for 3 or 4 years without an update. Just updated the Nuvi I use in my company car and it was a piece of cake (didn't have to delete anything - just took a bit of time). Updated the Zumo 550 for my bike and had all sorts of time consuming fun (strike fun and change to pain in the a*s) - I couldn't install the entire update, only parts 'cause there was not enough memory? WTF! Finally ended up installing everything that wouldn't fit on the main Zumo memory to the added memory card... That worked, but it took a while! Every time I update a GPS, it's always a new adventure.
