I currently have an 07 FLSTC heavily modded, but admit on long runs my *** is hurtin! I've been considering something more on the touring side of the house for longer runs, but have some concerns.
I aint a small man, and at 6'4 on most of the touring models I really feel like I'm 9 feet in the air over top the bike. On my Heritage I have 16" apes so I'm really laid back and feel more "inside" the bike, so to speak.
Can anyone offer some thoughts? I've heard of but never seen the tall boy seats, but wonder if there are better options I should be looking at.
Anyone else felt the same?
Also, seems it would be "odd" reaching over the handlebars to get to the controls. Is that something you'll just kind of get used to?
I haven't yet changed my seat, but I did go with WO 515 bars. I like the spacious feeling and don't notice that the radio is further away. Once it's on the controls are at the grips.
I'm not that tall but my 11 FLTRX fits me much better that my FXR,FATBOY & FLHT STD. It doesn't bother me to reach for the radio. I felt cramped on my FLHT. good luck.
I'm not sure if they offer a Tall Boy seat for the Road Glide but I have one on my Road King and love it. Very comfy for long haul driving. Would definitely recommend one if its available for your model.
