Default DB system installed

I finally got around to installing my new Draggin system. I ride an 04 RK Custom with a bunch of mods(since the pic was taken I have added a Supertrapp Supermeg 2-1 exhaust)

I had replaced the awful HD lowered air shocks when the bike was new with 12" standard spring Progressive 440's which improved the ride quality dramatically. I also have a Progressive fork spring lowering kit installed.

I am 5'6" with very short legs & even with the 12" shocks & forks lowered the bike was still awkward to backup etc at parking lot speeds even though I am a long time very experienced rider.. I decided to try the DB system so I would be able to slam it way down, not for looks but for easier handling in those conditions.

The DB install was a piece of cake, the whole job took less than one hour. I am still evaluating the ride of the new setup, the weather sucks here(upstate NY)& I haven't really been able to put a whole lot of miles on it. It sure is fun to play with however. I mounted the control switch on the bars under my left thumb so I can easily adjust it while riding.

In the small amount of testing I have been able to do, I think the DB system gives a slightly firmer(less cushy) ride than the 440's although it is still a FAR better ride than my stock HD shocks ever where. The DB setup seems a little less forgiving on sharp freeway bumps, but it is not a huge difference & I think the advantages of the system will far outweigh any small disadvantages in my case.

I find that it bottoms out way to easily unless the shocks are raised 3" with no rider and 5" with arider. Mine travel a full 6" total. I drop it all the way and measure from the ground to the bottom of the right saddlebag at the rear corner with the bike leaning on its kickstand. It measures 12". Fully extended 18"!!

I'm getting close to installing mine too, John, can you post a pic of your switch and location? Thanks!

Glad to hear people's opinions on these shocks! Hope to finally get mine on soon.

Hey D175, I love that front fender, would you tell me what it is, and where to get one?

Thanks!!

Lets see if this works. If it does you should be able to see the switch.
The DB system is firm to say the least. I road 300 miles Saturday and it is on the stiff side. I like being able to drop it to where I am flat footed around town and raise cruising
