Man what a great pic of you and your hound. I fire mine up and my labs run for the hills.
As for your shifting troubles. I am thinking some kind of a lever up to your side. Something like the old suicide shifters. The shift lever is pretty stout once you get that sh!ty linkage off of it. Go to a fab shop down there around Bragg and see if someone can get something going for ya. I have a couple buddies still down there I could give a call and man they are both smokin ***** with some steel and a welder. Get it on the bike and try it out. If it works for you send it off for paint or powder. I am thinking it will have to have some type of bracket under the tank to support the upper parts but I really think it is doable.
Anyway, awesome inspiration you are. Guys like you are the reason I wish I would of stayed in. There is no trade off for determination. Let me know if I can help you out at all.
I can help with the Leg Up Landing Gear. A good friend of mine is the inventor. His shop is around the corner from me. I have followed the progress of the Leg Up from day one. It just plain works. There was a double amputee in the shop a couple weeks ago getting a Leg Up installed on his bike. 407-834-5007 is the shop #. Ask for Pete. Info@landingear.com Pete can assist you with all the problems concerning your bike. You have been through enough. If I can be of assistance please PM me and I will do whatever I can to help.

Looks like you have a good contact. I hope you get it worked out. And thank you for your service! You deserve a solid working ride that you can depend on.
Almost forgot to add this one. This was about an hour before my Pingel tried to kill me. My feet have Fox Racing shocks on them! lol!
Hey Bro, I'm just on the other side of Bragg Blvd. I'm a machinist/welder/fabricator, if you want some help with the shifter issue or anything else, I will work with you to find a solution that suits your needs. Gotta warn you up front, my multiple duty positions and service obligations consume a lot of my time, so when it comes to projects I'm not real fast, but I am real good at what I do. PM me.
I sent a message to Pete. he was all too helpful, and told me to give him a buzz when I am ready, and we will discuss which system will best suit my needs. I read some of the other testimonials, and I continue to be impressed by what i see. I think that this is going to be the best route for me, but we will have to wait a few months to find out for sure. I would imagine that feb will be about the right time. I ll keep you all posted, and thank you for your continued support.
