Typical Poor Dealer Experience
Tried to put a new 18" tire on a 2011 FLHX rim I bought. Not having much luck with only two hands, scratched the rim. Now I'm not happy with myself. Bring the bike, 08 Road Glide along with tire and rim to my local delaer. Tell the guy behind service counter what I'm trying to do. I tell him the 18 fits, will need a bearing change because its set up ABS, my 08 is not ABS. He checks me in. Asks if I'm waiting. Still a couple of hours left in their workday. No, I'll come back tomorrow after work and pick up. Went back next afternoon, he is puzzled> Did we call you? No I say. Should be finished by now. We go in the back. The kid they have working on it has been trying and claims "it don't fit, wrong wheel! Calipers won't go back on!" So now I have to educate the "tech". Service manager comes over, he knows me and he knows it will fit. Anyway I leave, next day I'm told they figured it out. Bikes ready, only a couple of scratches on the chrome sliders. And I have to pay an hour and a quarter labor. Gotta love the Delaer training program.
