Been growing on me last year or so as well and now I love them. Did the same thing when the demo truck had a fleet of bikes a couple months ago and maybe if it was not such an awfully boring 14 mile ride where I barely got the feel of the thing I may have noticed things I did not like about it but I loved it!!!!
I'm not real sure why you even test rode one of those things because personally I can't imagine anyone owning an RG because they are so darn ugly it hurts.
Them Road Glides have F'UGLY written all over them.............
You will be considered a cast-off and looked down upon by your friends.
(I didn't have to worry as I didn't have any friends to begin with)
Redheaded step children with freckles and warts fit into society better than
a R/G.....
And in all honesty, you may become lost going around a long sweeping corner
cause your headlights won't be turning with you......
I've been Jone-sen for a RG Custom ever since I sat on one a few months ago. Just cant get it out of my mind. I'm thinking of going down to the stealer this week and see what kind of trade in he will offer...
And in all honesty, you may become lost going around a long sweeping corner
cause your headlights won't be turning with you......
i know that this is tongue in cheek, but seriously, a lot of people use that argument. the funny thing is, with countersteering, the headlights on your beloved street glide point off the road, while the headlights on our 'fuglies' point in the direction that we're going.....
and as far as 'reaching the radio', why? you can control it just fine with your handlebar switches.
me personally, i love the 'open' feel of the roadglide fairing as opposed to the cramped, in your face, feel of the batwings. and i'm a short little fokker, can't imagine how it must feel if your a 'biggun'...
I went on a ride Saturday and there were 2 RG that I saw and for the first time thought to myself that they looked pretty sharp. Of course I couldn't tell any of my friends, but they are starting to grow on me.
On a another note, I think we need to nominate ybnorm's picture to be considered as an all time classic, very nice.
