Or something else in the same price range. It's possible to pay well over $200 for one of these. That is not my plan. I'm specifically looking for people's experience with this or something else around or less than $100.
Looks like J&P might actually have this made and the next one is not always like the last one. Page says 'Product may vary from photo' so it all may be a crap shoot anyway.
Won't be stressing whatever I put on there since my long-tour days are mostly over.
One thingh to consider with the aftermarket brands is the quality of the chrome. Not sure about this J&P. I do have one available in the touring section for sale if you have the docking hardware. Make an offer.
Thanks Larsfum but I don't have the hardware if it's not on the bike. I am new to this RK after 23 years on my FLHTC and don't even know how the rack will attach.
I used that rack on my 02 Heritage for while. It was easy to install and worked great. Replaced it with the Kuryaken fold up rack with the magnet. I liked being able have the bike look cleaner when I didn't need the rack and not have to take it off. Don't like the Kuryaken because the magnet never worked and the rack falls all the time. Saw Kuryakey at a rally....told the rep. He gave me a new allegedly stronger magnet. Same problem. Will be putting on the HD rack that attaches permanently to the detachable backrest next.
I had the one that 131tman has for sale on my 06 FLHT with the "tall" harley sissy bar setup.
This is a very nicely made , very strong rack that attaches to the sissy bar.
If I didn't have a tourpack , I'd go the same route again for sure.
Pretty good price also.
