Default Cagers

Today on the freeway, there I was minding my own business... I get a cager in the lane to my right just ahead of me. Being a rider I try to keep track of all the happenings around me. So this car just ahead of me can either merge left into my lane or stay in the lane they are in and exit. A lot of people drive across, exit to exit without getting into the "main line". I watch and keep back thinking this car was going to merge maybe at the last moment. No signal (most drivers here don't know what they are) to turn. I realize the cage is going to enter my lane so I speed up to 60 mph or so. I get up alongside this car and sure as **** his signal goes on. I look over and this guy is talking on the cellphone. Phone up to the ear on my side so he can't see me. Asl I speed up I say "hang up and drive". He obviously heard me as he rode up on my ***. I gave him the middle finger wave and he pulls up along side of me and shows his badge. Undercover I guess. I didn't let up with my verbal assault on him and I see him pick up a microphone.. I told him to call his mother.
For being "trained" to talk on the phone while driving he was doing a lousy job.
YesI have respect for the law and those who uphold it.

Sorry had to rant
Just be careful out there!

No, as I re-read I see your point. I was right up next to him when he decided to change lanes. Then I hit the gas to get out of his way..

Showing his badge is just a form of Bullyism, you would think he should be better thanyour average driver, unfortunately it's obvious that wasn't the case. Also you have to be careful and watch your temper, no need of causing an unnecessary situation.

You are correct, it's rare that I lose my cool like that. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a visit yet..

It's hard for me to disagree with my Central Coast brother....unless of course we're missing something. Taking this at face value, looks like the OP was spoiling for a road fight. By all means, please correct if mistaken; we're rarely in doubt here, and once in a while need clarification!

Clarified! Thank you. I think with cagers it's to be expected though, badge or no badge. I prefer to just get out of the way and go on my way without the antics. Here, anyway, that can quickly lead to a road rage shooting incident that no matter the outcome, my family would be the losers as a result. Would hate to see that happen to any good person among us.

I don't care that he's a cop. I would have flipped him off.

So he thinks his badge gives him the right to be a dumb ***. I see it here too. Cops on their cell phones. How bout hang up and do your freakin job. There no different than anyone else and I doubt they train them to talk and drive at the same time. But hey, look at me, I'm a detective. I have all the respect for law enforcement but it goes both ways. My wife actually had a woman follow her home that she flipped off. She called the cops and gave them the address. Cops came to the house. She got a ticket and a fine. I thought it was hilarious, all except the fine part.

He was an irresponsible driver and a nitwit, you are worse. You just gave us all a bad name.
