Default Heat Management

At what temperature does the heat management system kick in? I bought one of those "very" expensive dip sticks so that I can see what my oil temp is running. I'm basically only concerned after I have been riding all day and heading home up the 6 miles of gravel road I live on. It's mostly up hill, and because the road is so poorly maintained, loose gravel, rain water channels larger rocks, etc, I obviously ride pretty slow 25 Mph up this road. I know the bike gets hot when running up the final leg of the road home, however the heat management has never kicked in when I stop to open the garage door and the bike is idling? And yes I know, I intend on buying the oil temp gauge that goes into the fairing, but don't want to be ripping things apart this late in the season. Riding here is already too short as it is. Tha's a winter project. And yes, the heat management system is activated.

Heat management function is controlled by the ECM via inputs from the ET sensor, it has nothing to do with oil temp. I can't remember the temp value, but it can be found in the TTS Mastertune manual, or you can find it here on the forum if search for it. There are also two different modes of EITMS.

'splain? never heard of two modes for eitms, unless you're talking enabled or disabled.

to answer the op, it kicks in at 285* cylinder head temp.

284° is what my stock tune was set at. I can see the tune with power vision tuner.

This is ftom the TTS manual a couple years ago, not sure if later models have different EITMS functions/modes

Mode1 AFR Enrichment, activated under the following conditions;
1. ET Exceeds 142C(287.6F)
2. RPM less than 1200

Mode 2 Skipfire/Rear Cylinder shut off, activated under the following conditions;
1. ET exceeds 155C(311F)
2. Vehicle speed less than 1-2 KPH

i've never seen any hd literature that made any mention of dual modes. everything i've seen or heard correlates to your 'mode 2' above. is it possible that mode 1 is a function of the tts software?

I't possible but I dont know for sure, I don't have a TTS or an O2 controlled bike, I'ts just something that a ran across during some other research. I think it is an OEM ECM function because the modes I listed fall directly under the title EITMS and it makes reference to the EITMS taking over the AFR. Also its not something that can be manipulated with the TTS, I would assume if it was a TTS feature you would be able to change some values, but again I don't know for sure.
