WOW!!! I can't believe what I'm hearing. It's amazing that a wheel that costs almost $1000 from the Harley dealer will only sell for maybe $100-200. There is over $350 worth of tires.
I appreciate the info guys but I am going to ask more than that. If I don't get it, oh well. I'll just sit on them in case I ever upgrade to a new bike in a few years and put the stock back on.
Not sure where you are getting your pricing but those wheels may be $500 each from Harley, no way are they $1k each. The Ultra Limited chrome wheels are only $500 each from the dealer.
I was high bidder for a rear wheel minus the pulley brand new on ebay for $50 + shipping, I admit it was a great deal, but you're best bet is to hold on to the wheels and tires if you think your going to get more than $150 each.
I'd save those stock wheels and swap back when you're ready to sell/trade the bike. Your replacement wheels will sell for a lot more as parts than you'll ever gain in trade in value. $10K worth of chrome **** on a $20K bike does not equal a $30K bike.
I sold my front tire, rim and rotor for 150 on craigslist..it sold in about 5 days. Some one that ownes a 09 with a 17inch rim and tire would love too move up too a 18.. I put that in the add when I sold mine.
You should get at least 300 to 450. I would start at 450. The rear tire new is over 200 bucks.. good luck
Problem is that nobody wants the rear wheel. If it fits their bike, they already have one. All the -06-'09 Street Glide owners want the 18" front to upgrade from the 16" and 17" fronts.
the shipping for the wheels will cost you more then the price u get for the wheels. i just sold the same front wheel it cost me $95.00 to ship 1 wheel. good luck.
Wow, Rick, you got ripped on the shipping! Where did you go...a UPS store?
You can ship a 48 lb wheel and tire in a box that measures 28 x 28 x 10 by Priority Mail, two - three day service, for less than $60, and USPS will come right to your house and pick it up.
HarleyNC, that's what I was thinking. Should be someone who wants to upgrade or has damaged wheels that need replaced.
Monumaker, I am going to do the exact same thing, post them for what I want and if they sell, great, if not, whatever. Both Craigslist and the EBay 200 mile radius listing are free so I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
