Default Ohlin Shock Thread

Anyone know why my post on Monday about Ohlin shocks disappeared? This one was about the broken plastic spring collar. I can't find it to do an update. Got the metal collar today, just as promised.

Could have just gotten dumped out of the data base, but not likely. I noticed when someone has something to say that is not favorable, sometimes their words disappear. Strange, isn't it.

Sure enough gone, I know it got a little heated but I don't recall anything in there that warranted removing the thread. So did your situation get resolved to your satisfaction?

MM is a forum sponsor. I don't think we're supposed to mess with the sponsors. I remember some comments that may have insinuated Ohlins was using inferior parts (delrin instead of metal) or something like that, along with some other remarks that they were hard to install and set up. When I get enough cash I'm gonna call Howard and get me some 3-3s.

I'm sure it got nuked because the lovers and haters can't get along. Glad you got the new collar in on schedule.

I think it got dumped because 1 member attacks Howard on every Ohlins thread without offering any facts to back up his claims and tries to entice people into arguments

If that were the case the moderators would just ban him, or at least pull his replies from the thread, not delete the entire thread. Anyway, that's just my guess. This is a commercial forum and it is in the interest of management to make the sponsors happy, which is a mindset that isn't hard for me to understand. I'm not lecturing anyone here, but this is still the best forum on the internet for obtaining useful info about Harleys, and although the commercial orientation of HDForums is sometimes a minor distraction, it doesn't put much of a dent in my enthusiasm for the benefit I derive from it. Just my 2˘, and again I'm not besmirching your opinion or that of anyone else here. This just looked like a good time to rant a bit.
