Have just installed it withthe ipod on the inside of the radio..awesome setup, sounds great. But...instructions refer to a potential problem with the display variating while the bike is running. This is occurring. Fix is to ground radio to frame. This has been done. Still getting the volumn level notching up and down without prompting and depending on what mode the radio is in the display will show it self adjusting up and down while the bike is running. Anyone fix this on their radio???
I'm having the same issues....after losing the use of my hand controls, I contacted Biketronics...they sent me a new module ($50 core fee) since installing the new module I have hand controls but my volume will go up or down as your has without touching my controls...I also recently shut OFF my stereo while riding and 30 minutes later it came on with volume at full blast....damn near gave me a heart attack. Another call to Biketronics and they suggested loosening the screws on the hand controls and "massaging" the wires going into the hand controls as some are supposedly pinched when coming from the factory (although I haven't had this issue prior to the new module) Another call to Biketronics is in order....I'll re-post if I find the solution to our problem.
I have the same Sony radio where the iPod goes inside the radio. The problem I'm having with my Biketronics controler is the hand controls stops working as soon as I take my bike out for a ride. I have to disconnect the neg. battery cable then reconnect. The controls will work...then when I take a ride they stop. Biketronics is replacing the module...will report with the results after replacing module.

Thats how everything started with my set-up....I too got tired of disconnecting the ground wire...then when that didn't work anymore they sent me a new module....now my system has a mind of its own. The hand controls work about 60% of the time....frustrating to say the least.
Hmmm..interesting that we're all having issues with the hand control module. Keep me psoted, I guess I could make a call as well but I'm betting that I get the same answers you guys are getting. My hand controls work pretty good, I have to make sure that when Im cruising that the radio is in volumn mode and not any other mode as when it self adjusts it only varies from one number up and then back..IE if its set at 22 it will slef adjust to 23 and then back down to 21 and then back up to 23, etc..When in volumn mode it's not really noticable but if Im in equalizer mode it'll go from cruise to explode and back to cruise, blahblahlblah...
Well i am having the same problems. Sent back the old unit. installed the new unit. it is version "e" i think. hand controls worked for two maybe three weeks now ng. I could never get the AVc to adjust as they claimed it would......I am done just ordered the unit from Hawg Wired. that is a ton of money for some stuff that just will not work.........jmts
I spoke with biketronics today about these issues (third call)......They DO want to fix this problem. They are sending me a module that is "tweaked" as to not be so susceptible to other electrical interference, I should receive it by Fri. or Sat.....I'll post the results asap.
