I put V&H Dresser Duals on my 2011 Road King. I used my existing Screaming Eagle slip-ons. I notice the right muffler almost touches the axle. Does anyone know if this is normal?
I did some searches on here and guys say some mufflers come with an indentation for that. My SEs don't have one.
You may want to put the bike on a lift and make sure it won't hit with the rear wheel fully extended. I have that issue because I bought monster ovals right when the 09 bikes came out. Turns out there is a clearance issue with 08 monster ovals on 09- later bikes. I can get away with it because I have a a street glide with the shorter shocks. If I ever want to put longer shocks on, I have to replace the heat Sheilds on my mufflers with the post 09 models, which have a cutout to clear the axel bolt.
Non if this aplies directly to you, other than to point out it IS possible to have a clearance issue mounting older mufflers on the newer bikes.
You can loosen the pipe a little . Turn it away from the frame, if not you can add a 1/4 spacers, washers with a longer bolts , but you néed to do both pipes. To get get even good luck
