My LEO buddy got a great deal on a '05 Police model, he was new to Harley and of course was totally dissapointed in the sound and performance of this stock bike with about 200miles on the clock.......local dealer had a Trex take-off from a guy who said they were too loud for his taste in touring so we snatched the T-rex up for $350...great condition. Got him a stage 1 air and a PCIII and las t night did the deed and got it all on.......like most on this forum I have read countless reports onthese pipes but I have never personally seen or heard them. Install was clean, though I am not a big fan of of the lack of intermediate bracket at the trani for the front cylinder pipe, but hey it must be "in the design"......you should have seen the grins when he thumbed the starter lat night about 11pm and took it for scoot through the neighborhood.........that is indeed one awesome bass rumble that come out of those pipes.........it just defines Harley sound to me.......now they may be too loud for some on touring and I have yet to get the full test ride to see how the throttle resoponse and torque feels, so I look forward to that.....it will be fun to do a direct comparo to my '06 SG whcih has the same set-up except I have the Fat Cat.......BH I can now understand your passion about these pipes
A sound clip would not do justice....trust us when we tell ya, you will be more than pleased with the deep, solid, definitive HARLEY sound & performance!
I too would be glad to just settle for a sound clip of the T-Rex's. Nobody in my area has them and I made a note to try and find a bagger with them at the Hot Springs Rally a couple months ago and with no luck. I am running RTD's myself along with a bunch of others and love them and haven't heard any better including bassani and thunderheaders. T-Rex's are the only ones that seem to be non-existant around here.
Im in the same boat Blaine, I have never seen HK pipes in my area, i would hate to make a mistake this winter and pass on the T-Rex because I have not heard them. I believe that It Is the least you can do for this forum after all of the pimping you have done, you dont know you could have 3 more members of the clampless club.
