I had to do some wiring that required that I assemble the male end of a Deutsch Connector. Since I was unfamiliar with this mystical German extreme environment connector, I solicited help from this forum, and a couple of fellow members provided instructions and encouragement. This ended the mystery of how these connectors are assembled and prompted me to post some pictures of my assembly process.
Groaning, the other connector is the "B+" connector; i.e. it's an fused, direct connection to the battery's positive terminal.

Deutsch makes a variety of different connectors; the one shown in the pictures is their DT series. Our bikes also use Deutsch DTM series. You can see pictures at this vendor's website:
I've never used needle nose pliers to crimp sockets or pins; but, I have a Philmore WS26 crimp tool from Fry's that cost $9.99 and it did a good job; and, an open barrel crimp tool from Sargent that cost about $25 that is better due to it's articulated action.
