ok..ok. i know. i am not bitching nor telling anybody anything they don't know. and i really don't want to get flamed either. recently went out and bought a new triumph tiger 1050 as a second bike. i really love riding this thing cause of the acceleration and cornering. but i have to admit that when i hopped on my 09 road glide for a rid e saturday i was actually amazed at how much of a slug this thing was. have cams added along with a d & d. it runs great but is loud and slowed compared to the triumph. I KNOW...I KNOW. not the same kind of bike.
the other thing that really got me was the handling (or lack thereof)!!! a lot of you have modified the shocks and forks of these things.
my question is what is your "best bang for the buck" as far as fixing the handling on these 09+ touring bikes? i know there is probably a different answer for every one out there but just trying to get a feel for which way to go...
thanks
You had better get rid of that Triumph before You labeled as a Traitor. To help You out I will Come to Tomball, and pick it up for FREE!
That's a very kind offer!
The subject of handling is a pretty complex one! There is no simple solution or easy fix. Starting from the ground up, there are better tyres out there, better rear shocks, handling kits to stabilize the rubber engine mounts, also alternative ways of improving the front forks.
However the most difficult thing is that nobody agrees on these things! I suggest you take time to look into each of them and get some background info on what you think may help you and your bike. We will happily help you spend your money!
