Has anyone stuffed a 150 under their Electraglide? I have a 150 and an '03 Classic. I know a 140 will work but I'd sure like to get this 150 under there without the expense of a trial and error mount, balance, & install.
an MU85 is 143mm. i had to trim the inner flexible belt drive shield so it wouldn't rub when i installed it on my 01. the MUs were't added until i think 05 so a 150 possibly will rub the belt itself on earlier than 05. best of the MU85 is the extra 2/32nds of tread over other sizes. a 150 should be usable on 05s and up. if anyone has better knowledge please help here.
i put a dunlop h/d 150 on my 06 ultra about 1k miles ago.it touches the beltguard when if flexes.i checked it with a hacksaw blade when i installed it by putting the blade between the guard and the tire.it didnt touch when sitting still, but it does touch it slightly when riding.
Pointless installing a 150, only 7mm wider with a clearance issue...plus it's still a skinny *** tire. Pony up, slam it with a 200/wide fender, then ya got really got somethin' to brag about...go BIG or stay home!
I've been running 150mm tires on back for the past three years. My favorite tire to date is the Michelin Commanders...as a matter of fact, they make a 150/80/16 for the front tire as well, which is being installed this winter.
EDIT:...what a bunch of crap. because the link goes to HDf's primary competition (v-t-f) they will not link to it.[:@] Well I know many of you are members there anyway, so just go visit the wheels/tires/suspension section and you'll find it 'sticky'd' at the top.
