Sorry for the slow reply on this post. I have been out of town since last week and we just got back in and this post was brought to my attention. I have no idea what could have happened to your seat. Call me tomorrow and we will straighten this out. Like I have said thousands of times before, if you are not happy with the results of our modifications call me, its a toll free number so it don't cost you a dime. Like I said I have no idea what happened to your seat but we will certainly take care of it. Customer satisfaction is our goal and if you are not satisfied why didn't you call us instead of trying to ruin our business but then again some people like to cast stones before trying to resolve a problem. Toll free number is 866-550-SEAT(7328) Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow be sure to identify yourself with your screen name since you didn't post your real name so I have no idea who you are. Good to see MCC getting involved, I'd like to see the outcome, it looks like Allen is stepping up and trying to get things right. Personally, I've had 4 seats that Mean City has worked on, 2 on my Superglide and 2 on my Road King. Three of the seats were sent in by me and I purchased one already modded. I have nothing but good things about the pricing and quality of the seats I've had done.
The shipping to and from NY was reasonable when I had he work done and no, you're not buying a custom seat and then again you're not paying custom pricing. I got a fair work done for a fair price, no more, no less.

this reply certainly isnt something i would expect from any professional vendor,or any company for that matter.calling the guy out because he is a little impatient.
Edited, added a picture of the seat, no I don't work for a rival company, I'm a power plant operator, yes I live in CA and its expensive to send a seat all the way across the country, no I don't think a week is too short of a time for a reply, he (Allen) seemed having no problem calling me when he wanted a credit card #
For those of you that have the opinion that I am being too hard on them, look at the attached picture and let me know if you would put that piece of crap on your bike.
Just a note also. I have been out of town since last Thursday and just got back about 3 hours ago. At the request of my better half I did not take a computer with me because she knew I would work but all you had to do was call the shop after the holiday weekend and someone there would have been more than happy to help to help you.

I wasn't caling anybody out. It just amazes me that anytime someone has a problem the first thing they do is tell people not to use a certain business or service. 99.9% of our customers are more than happy with our services and our customer service is second to none. We take care of our customers and our customers appreciate that. The shop was closed from Friday-Monday for the holiday. The shop re-opened Tuesday so all he had to do was call and this could have been resolved easily instead of telling people not to use our services, to me that is attack on my business which I take great pride in but then again this is a forum and bashing is part of the main stream and if someone bashes my business then yes I do take it personally.
I have my seat getting worked on the 14th. Already sent it in, hopefully they do a good job. I was pretty picky on what I wanted done. If you're reading this MCC *cough* MARK *cough*
I also just sent my seat into them appointment date is th 15th. If you're reading this MCC *cough* Harry *cough*
The bad thing about sending an Email is you just assume the right person read it. I prefer a phone call, we know what happens when you Assume something.

That looks like hammered chit. Out of town or not.... That shouldn't have left the shop looking like that. Quality control shouldn't lay on one person's hands alone.
Glad MCC is fixing the problem but someon's *** should be sore at the shop for shipping the seat looking like that. There is no excuse for poor workmanship or an uncaring employee for not noticing before it went out the door.
In all fairness to the op, he said he did try contacting MCC. In fact, a week earlier, and hadn't heard anything back. To a guy who opened a box and saw the seat in his picture, a week of waiting would seem like an eternity. When you don't hear anything back after a couple days, and the na couple more, then a couple more... it's like... torture, even though it's just a week. I'm a huge fan of communication, and no communication is just torture to some of us.
But the shop owner has stepped up, and sounds like he is genuinely interested in righting the ship. I'm not trying to badmouth MCC, because I've heard a lot of good things about them, but I'm merely looking at this from a consumer's position.
Guys... to ship the seat out, get it modded, ship it back to the owner, and then wait another week for a response, is like an eternity to someone who just wants to ride (we've all been there, right?). I'm sure everyone on here can sympathize with that. Was it the right thing for the op to take it to the public forum? Sure. It sounds like he tried the expected course of resolution first. But he claims he got no response. If he sincerely didn't know the owner was on vacation, then I think it may ne ok for the route he took. But it sounds like the owner got a little defensive... not what I was expecting, but he's entitled to his reply too. Maybe others would have been a little "less colorful", but oh well.
I'm fairly certain that this will be resolved, and everyone will will be happy. Let's be patient and see how this pans out. I think that's fair enough.

MY 2 CENTS! Took my 2007 stock SG seat to MCC and had it done while I waited. Told Allen exactly how I wanted the sides shaved and needed a better feeling cushion in the seat portion and more of a lip for the backrest. I got exactly what i asked for and more. After about 1000 miles the seat was decently broken in. However after about 5000 miles it fits like a glove. Couldn't be more satisfied. I was able to deliver my seat to Allen but that was the first time I had met him and I can tell you they are all about reputation and quality because I saw it first-hand. I would have no problem using MCC again and again.
