On 12's probably not much off list. I bought a new 11 SG first week of August and it was $2,800 under list, and they had a few to choose from. Same Dealer was doing $3,200 off Ultra's and they had quite a few, I would think they're all gone.
What ever you do, do not bargain with cash. May seem like a good point but it's not. They make more money on finance kickback and service then from Big Brother Harley. Always always get the best price as if you are going to finance. Listen to the finance man and then pull the bait and switch by saying I take it and then stroke them a check for the bottom line paid in full. Did it on my last to cars. However I can only say the Harley dealer around here wants more then book the last two time I tried to buy a Harley from him but that was a few years back. When did the Harley web site quit quoting shipping? And too you new buyers is there still a Softail balanced engine?

On a new 2012 where I live it's msrp. You can bargin a little with your trade in. The dealer where I trade offers the best trade in value if you have a low mileage clean machine.
A year ago in Idaho the dealer was willing to give me a kidney if I bought a bike from him. In this economy I think the only thing I would pay retail for would be gold ingots.
Down in Texas there is no bargaining on the MSRP. They do throw in gift cards sometimes or other freebies. And they will bargen on the trade in. Good Luck, but look to used if you want a good deal and the ability to bargen.
I understand you can bargin with them now. If so how much should I expect to get off Harley's suggested Price?
This is cash price, no trade.
FWIW, I just purchased (last week of August) a 2012 EG Ultra Classic in ember red with ABS at less then MSRP from Kevin at Earl Small's in Marietta, Georgia. Bare in mind that sales to customers outside a dealer's zip code no longer count towards their sales numbers (it actually counts against them...I've heard that from two different dealers).
With that said, I understand some chances are being made at the York plant that might slow or even stop production for a while so the availability and price may be a lot different now and into the near future.
Good luck!

If I was the dealer, I'd rescind my offer since one of the elements of the deal (financing) has changed. There's nothing you could do about it. IMO, the way to do it is to wait for the first payment slip (or the whole book) to be mailed to you (a week or 2 later) and pay it off then. It'll cost you maybe $5 for accrued interest and that's all.

Well, I totaled mine out last Monday. Insurance paid off Thursday. I didn't break any bones. Just road rash on both elbows and my left hip is black and blue and swollen.
I'll wait a couple of months for the soreness to go away before I get serious. Damn that hurt. But for a 60 year old I came away very lucky.
I hate lossing my 99 Standard. I was planning on keeping her until she truned 100,000. She only had 75,000 on her.
With the economy the way it is I might look for a used one with low miles but I don't want anything older than a 2009. I have heard a lot of good things about the new framed bikes.
