Is it possible for a bike to actually be in gear when the neutral indicator
is lit up? I usually start with clutch in but was curious. Good for a "nice" ride
if it happened.
I agree with Dawg...just to be safe. But I've never personally experienced being in gear when the neutral light was on--on Hogs or others. My Police Model Road King requires the clutch to be disengaged when starting up anyway.
Ride safe!

gotta love this forum... half the guys are on another thread bashing Honda owners because of the sidestand switch and clutch lever interlocks, and the other half are on this thread saying never to trust the neutral light.
Advice to ZRX: The issue is don't trust the various lights/interlocks/and such on any bike! I've not had a safety switch failure on a Harley, but I have on every metric I've owned that has such interlocks.
Be cautious and save a grand or two by never trusting those thin wires.
