I can turn the switch on, fuel pump kicks on but has a squeekin sound hit the start button motor turns over but wont start. Turn the switch off fuel pump makes same sound again. I give it about 30mins with a few attemps in between and it starts right up. Has anyone else had this problem

Have you noticed the fuel level when this happens? Sounds like the fuel pump is taking a while to build up adequate pressure. The '05 models has some problems with the line between the fuel pump and pickup rubbing against the inside of the tank and developing a small hole which affected fuel pressure. The noise those guys heard was described as a "hissing" noice, not a squeak. Not saying this is your problem but if it is, it will get worse.

How many miles on the bike? Have you changed the fuel filter yet? I would remove the in-tank paraphernalia and do an inspection for any leaks, including the fuel-pressure regulator where it mounts. While in there I would replace the hoses and filter, and also the regulator if you aren't getting a good seal there.

I had around 47k when I changed all my in-tank hoses as well as the FP regulator, filter, and exterior hose. I had a leak around the regulator mounting point, but that wasn't causing the misfiring and bad-idle issues I was chasing. My problem turned out to be a bad TPS, but I doubt if that's your problem. Is your bike throwing any codes?

Hang in there, as these problems can be hard to diagnose. Keep us posted.
