how do you remove the backrest and seat on a 2007 ultra?

 

If your speaking about drivers backrest the HD ones snap into a bracket
under the seat.

If you reach in the seat slot and squeeze the sides together it should
pull out. Then remove the seat as normal.

Not sure about non HD rests.

If he has the adjustable backrest, there is a button on the right side of the shaft holder you push down to release the backrest, and a screw at the back of the seat that holds the seat on and of course you have to remove the screw on the left end of the seat strap too!
