I think you might live to regret getting rid of the FXR. These were one of the best bikes HD ever made, and if you get rid of this one it might be hard to replace later.
Dressers are great machines, and I wouldn't ride anything else for the most part. At the same time, I would not get rid of an FXR if I had one, and I would buy one if I could get a good one for the right price and could swing it.

That's what I'm worried about. I was hoping to pull the trigger before June so I could ride the new bike on the SW Mini Rally, but I don't think there is any way to keep them both. If I could only stand to wait another year....
Built and rode an FXR for 12 years. Got married on it and thought I would keep it forever. Brought home a Bagger, rebuilt it and put it on the road. After a few months of having my pick of either one, I wound up always on the bagger. Sold the FXR and never looked back.

If its going to a good home and a buddy, get rid of it when cash is offered. For the type of riding you do an un-corked bagger would be the ticket. Your weekend trips would become 1500-2000+ mile trips.
