Rode the bike to Wilmington Saturday no problems, on the way back bike would not accellerate, backfiring through the exhaust and no power. Limped it home and looked over it Sunday, no codes, nothing obvious.
Took it to the dealer Sunday, service department was closed till today.
Good news, 1 hour labor and two new spark plugs solved the running problem.
Bad news, technician rode the bike and said the transmission mainshaft bearing is shot.
Worse news, My vacation startrd today at lunch time and I'm supposed to be heading to Bryson City in the morning.

Bike still runs, noise is an ocassional chatter. If I ride it what's the worse that can happen? Please don't respond if you have not experienced this failure yourself.
Picked the bike up and talked to the service manager, he said ride it, so I did. Took it easy at first then flogged the hell out of it. Changed the oil in the tranny after the first day and it looked like a disco ball exploded in there...
Anyway it's home now and I have an appt Friday to have it changed. Going to add the 31 tooth belt sprocket while it's down also.
