Hey wideopen1967, 209 is one of my favorites too, it's a nice ride. On the way back south from Hot Springs, I take 63 off of 209 to go east at Trust. 63 goes through some more switchbacks and some beautiful, rolling hills as you ride through Leicester, etc. Come to think of it, I'd say it is at least as nice a ride as 209. I recommend both. Be careful of the wildlife, couple of weeks ago I stopped to let a deer cross 209 and some of the cornfields run right up to the road.

Love living in this area. There are so many roads and combinations of roads in north and south carolina that are wonderful to ride on.
