Default 103" build

Just picked up a 2012 fltrx about a month ago and when the snow flies it will be time do some mods.

First off, I don't need a race bike. I just want something that has good power and that I can have a little fun with.

I plan to do the basic stage 1 minium.

I have been tossing around the idea of cams as well. When I asked the dealer about adding cams they suggested doing flat top high compression pistons as well.

They also suggested using "perfect fit" pushrods over the "quick install" push rods. Saying they have seen a few bikes come in for quick install rods loosening up.

I have a few questions currently.

1. Are new pistons worth the extra coin? Will I notice the extra power from the seat? Good or bad for reliability, warranty?

2. Opinions on push rods? I have heard good and bad things about both.

Thanks!

My 2010 Street Glide is a Stage II 103. SE 255 cams with flat top cast pistons. Bike makes 92 hp and 106 torque plus still gets 43.5 miles per gallon running two up loaded at 80 miles an hour.

Lot's of folks will chime in about different cams but in my book my stage II 103 is very reliable and performs well to boot.

dude you are about to open up a can of worms.
You dont want a race bike but if you aren't careful
that is what you might wind up with because once
you start it is hard to stop.

Is it a 103 already? If not, just build it into a 107". If its already a 103" them cams an head work will get you some power.

Stage 2 with SERT, 255 cams, Rinehart true duals with a good tuner will get you 90hp+ and 100tq+. I have a buddy with a 2011 limited with this set up and it runs very well.
