What is your security start override code based on? I remember the dealer going over it with me, but who pays attention when you can't wait to jump on the new scoot?
A couple of weeks ago I rode off from home without my fob and didn't realize it until I stopped and shut the bike off. I couldn't remember the override procedure, but luckily I wasn't too far from home. I decided to make an app for my android smartphone that would have some useful information if I found myself in a similar jam again.
What I have so far is a small app that links to Harley's "dealer finder" for mobile, HD Forums mobile, and also has a list of trouble codes and the security PIN override and security PIN reset instructions. It is pretty rough, and I have a lot of ideas about how it can be improved, but I wanted to put it out there now in hopes that some of you will download it and give me some feedback. In particular I would like you to point out any mistakes in the trouble codes. All of the information in the app has come from posts here on HD Forums.
The app can be downloaded in the Android Marketplace
I know that some of you will have reservations about installing an app from an unknown source. All I can tell you is that I have been a member here for a couple of years, and the mods have my real name and information. I ran this idea past Terry before posting, and he has even installed it on his own phone. I hope to make it available in the app store eventually, but it will need some work before that. It should work on all Android based smartphones.
D/L'ing it right now. Looking forward to trying it.... (TY!)
