I think we have insurance for uninsured motorists built into our policies?
There are tons of illegals out there with out of state plates owned by someone who has a PO Box for an address and doesn't even live in this country. Cops let them go (with a summons that will never be answered or paid) because they don't 'exist', no revenue can come from them. Seen it happen. Anyway...sorry, off topic. Don't get me started. LOL.
Make sure you have it. I do and that is taking care of things for me. Just don't assume it though.

I have Geico too and so far they have been great.

If u have receipts for add on's and work, let your adjuster know right away. I'm and adjuster here in Mass, any help I can give just PM me...good luck!
I have looked at NADA and also looked and ebay and CL. I have found my model year for anywhere from 8 - 11k and I have the printouts. I do have some add ons that I have put on but since it's going to get totaled I am going to go get those back before the dealer releases it to who ever comes for it. The shop manager said that until I release interest in it it's still my bike so he said he would let me get what I needed off of it. I will shoot you a PM here in a while thanks.

Geico estimates value based on what bikes of your yr make and model are going for in your area . I made out on my deal . also make sure you have or get all your extras insured next time .

Good luck with healing. I was about 1000 bucks from the total limit, so i rebuilt (still in shop).

Its so crazy to me that the people that follow the rules are the ones who suffer. Its bullshit, but buck up it could have been worse

Hunt him down and cut his head off for making that mistake to you. Make him pay for having an accident. Wait for him in the bushes in the AM as people are less aware at that time. Yes, I am trying to make you laugh

I did see a 2011 FLHTCUI CVO when I was in the showroom. It is realllllly nice and I would hope so for 37k. I'd have to get one heck of a payday to be able to get that.

I also recently went through a total loss. The first offer "thats exactly what it is" from the Insurance Company was $15000, after a 45 minute phone conversation we settled at $19750 "I started at $20000. Be willing to negotiate and they WILL see things your way. If they can't settle with you over the phone they know it will end up in court and that is a VERY costly process for the Insurance Company.

As for rebuilding the bike, depending on what is wrong with the frame you may be able to fix it. I fixed my frame "bent under-trans cross member, bought a paint set off ebay, and scoured the classifieds for everything else. In the end I have right at 3K real money in one bad *** road king "that counts a Quadzilla Fairing and King Tour Pack."

Been there with my truck claim. They need to throw uninsured motorists in jail and let them bunk with "Mad Dog the a$$ reamer" for a few nights!

Sucks!!! Sorry for your loss. Could have been worse. Could have been you.
Years ago, an illegal pulled out in frt of my mom. Typical. no insurance. My dad went after him like a blood hound. Had the SC County Sheriff serve him, drug him into court 3 or 4 times.
Finally they agreed on $100 per mo until it was paid. The judge told him, if you don't pay him and I see you in here again, I'll revoke your drivers licence permenantly. It took just over 2 yrs but he got the money out of him.

I agree with the previous posts. Most of us abide by the law and pay our dues to the dmv and keep insurance. AND pay our taxes.
Someone w/o insurance who causes a loss should have to spend some cell time with Trevor the Lever or Tyrone.
