Default Total loss

Well it's now official. My bike is a total loss because of a stupid bone head maneuver by a stupid uninsured motorist! Because of this kid I am the one in pain and going through physical therapy and losing my bike! It just isn't right! I should find out tomorrow how much I will get for it but I have a feeling it will not be as much as the bike is worth to me just because it's an older bike. I guess I could keep it and repair it but it will mean a new frame. I know this bike end to end and I can do it but is it going to be worth it and if I make a mistake then I'm screwed but then again newer bikes don't get as good of mileage as I do. I always get around 45/gal. This whole thing blows!

I averaged 44 on a 1500 mile trip with my 09 Ultra. That was before the tuner though, probably gonna see that drop.

Sucks about your bike though. Good luck what ever you decide.

Bad situation made worse by uninsured driver, all the laws the have about insurance and yet this happens every day, If it were up to me it would be a felony to drive without insurance. Hope all works out for you, BTW newer bikes get great mileage if you ride them right.

Sorry for your pain.
I hope you get through this and better and wind up with another bike you are as happy with.

I think we have insurance for uninsured motorists built into our policies?
There are tons of illegals out there with out of state plates owned by someone who has a PO Box for an address and doesn't even live in this country. Cops let them go (with a summons that will never be answered or paid) because they don't 'exist', no revenue can come from them. Seen it happen. Anyway...sorry, off topic. Don't get me started. LOL.

I got slammed a few years back also. Don't settle for less, your ins co. will pay. I had geico and they were awsome with me and in my case they went after the other ins co . I was happy with my turnout. And my 2011 with a 103 gets mid 40's in mileage. goo luck

..NADA shows your bike to be around $8800. That's for High-Retail which is what the ins. co should base your value on, some will look for low priced similar models for sale on Craigs, and Ebay to try and F*ck you, telling you that's the real value...stand your ground and don't accept anything less than at LEAST NADA high-retail. If u have receipts for add on's and work, let your adjuster know right away. I'm and adjuster here in Mass, any help I can give just PM me...good luck!

Feel for you man

In the UK if you ride / drive and they catch you, the vehicle can be impounded and crushed, doesn't stop thousands doing it tho. They just say the insurance is too expensive... but it's expensive because of selfish idiots like them... and false injury claimants and their greedy lawyers!
