For guys that may be purchasing a Rev Performace EMS unit in the future, instead of mounting the control box on your fuse block cover, think about mounting it on your HD Siren or if you don't have a siren, in the spot where the siren would sit.
If you have a siren, use a small section of thin wood attached with velcro to the siren to keep the EMS box from blocking the siren output. See pictures.
It's a cleaner install and will give you a few more inches of wiring so you can run the two wires that go to the front O2 sensors in the wire box under the fuel tank. Yes, do the job right and pull off the fuel tank. Takes all of maybe 4 minutes and do away with plastic ties and possible wiring coming into contact with hot engine parts.
I'm waiting for my ECM to return from Rev Perf, so I can't give any reviews on the product just yet.
I was finally able to ride my bike today with the Rev Perf EMS installed.
First noticeable thing was that the decel pop from my Monster Ovals was gone. Bike pulls hard in all gears and in 6th gear doing about 70+, a twist of the throttle got me to 80-85 real quick. I'm not a fan of high speed, so 85 is my limit.
At idle after 80 miles, my fairing mirrors did not vibrate as they did prior to the install which is a good thing.
I put about 80 miles on the bike and ran it harder then I have ever run her in the past and my fuel gauge dropped accordingly.
I'll be doing a 2 up long distance ride this coming weekend and will post my results next week.
Frank Drago said that it takes at least 100 miles for the bike to self tune, so it should be good to go after Saturday.
Bike is running great in the cooler temps. No more rich fuel odor like I had before with the Fuel Pak. On start up, no more high-low-high-low rpms. Goes up to about 1200 rpms and then drops down to 950-1000 real fast. Fuel mileage seems to be a little better ( have not done an accurate check yet ). I have about 600 miles on the EMS now and have no complaints so far. I was thinking 255 cams but right now, even riding 2-up, I don't see the need for the terrain I ride.
