about American Custom Exhaust? I know that some will say that it's not the same as the other guys. Got that and understand that. But, if your on a budget (and I would assume most of us are) it seams like a pretty good deal. Currently overseas and bike is in storage and I am working on my wish list. Looking to get the best bang for the buck.

Was wondering the same thing about these guys. Are they any good, or just lesser quality inexpensive generic knock offs?

They have really good reviews and I have heard nothing negative about them. They basically take the stock exhaust and modify it with their baffle. For the budget minded, I think it's a good alternative.

Yup, I have both the gutted heaader and the Bomber mufflers on my 2011 FLHX103. I went with them because I was/am also on a budget. I liked the idea of keeping the factory exhaus because I knew it fit perfectly and looked good. I'm not one to sacrifice looks just for an extra horse or two so the Thunderheader and the likes were out of the equation. The sound of the American Custom is awesome IMO and I have people asking me what kind of exhaust it is. I noticed a small increase in power and torque, but mainly the bike seems like it revs a little faster. It is definitely a little cooler running as well.

I believe that you get everything from the American Custom exhaust as you do all the more expensive systems, but for a cheaper price. Certainly not the BEST performing system, but not the worst either and is within a few horsepower and lb ft either way guaranteed.

One thing I will say, though. They tell you that you won't need an EFI tuner. You don't NEED one, but it will definitely help to get one. I noticed I had a hesitation and sputter right around the 2,000rpm range. From what I have read on here, even though it is a "closed loop" system that supposedly adjusts itself, you are still making a change to volume in/volume out. Being on a budget, you don't have to get a tuner, but it will help performance and mileage.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I think I am going to do the tuner. Are you running one?

I did their header pipe and everything looked good. Heat is much lower minus the cat.

I did not get their exhaust, but after the quality of the header pipe I would not hesitate to say their exhausts are probably a good buy.
