Hmmm....

Aftermarket junk? Yeah - because as we all know, the stock shocks on an HD are the best which could POSSIBLY exist....

The 940's are not junk. You've got a lowered bike and you appear to be expecting a ride better than the ride you get at stock height.

I believe your problem is not the parts or the vendor but rather your expectations and lack of attention to sales policies.
Once again I did not know this policy existed for this company. Just like you overlooked me saying that in an earlier post maybe I did overlook this information on the site so we both have the same problem i guess.

Yeah I can't see where Phat is responsible really. They are just a retail discount store. Got a discount right?

Yep been there & done that Brother!
I have a problem that very little is built to my satifaction these days, & very often alot of these aftermarket parts are highly over rated. I personally have had no experence with the item you have purchased, but have spent hard earned money more than once on items that I was not happy with, & felt they were over rated.
You will find less & less with return policys these day, & I do understand why! Besides its not the sales company that manufactured these items there only into sales. In these situations you may sometimes have a little luck contacting the manufacture for a return "Sometimes you get Lucky".
You can never do enough research on the parts you plan to purchase, & these forums are a great place to do so. At the sametime some people will bragg on a item on there bike regardless, it helps if ya can reconize the bull ******** LOL. Also what one may think is awsome may not be so great to another. Stopping in at local bike nights, rallys, and such does help a great deal in seeing things in person.
The shocks you have purchased does seem to be a popular item, maybe just not for you. If no luck contacting manufacture, as said earlier post them up for sale & gett what money ya can back. Like said I have been there more than once good luck!

I guess, I paid 526.95 total. If I would have known that I would not like these shocks I would have kept my money, or I would have paid full price at progressive and they would have covered the spring swap and shipping free. I have learned a lesson and will not be buying anything from this company again. Just don't like middle men. I think these shocks have the potential to be good shocks but right now they are horrible and that is no exaggeration.

Thank you man for those words of wisdom. I have purchased many things for my bike and can honestly say this is the first time I really wanted to get my money back for a purchase. Some worked ok and some worked great (Dragonfly fairing). And I honestly think these shocks do work but for heaver bikes from the feel of them. But this was not disclosed to me by the seller. The fact is Road Kings are lighter in weight than the UC and RGU. The guy even said they have sold hundreds with no issues so what would one return hurt? Old saying goes spilled milk deserves no tears.

I used to buy a lot of parts from Phat Performance , used to deal with a guy named Matt. They always treated me well and even though they have a no return policy (unless it is defective etc) I was able to return 2 items that i did not like when I received them. Granted they gave me store credit, but that was very fair IMO.

I would continue to buy from them and recommend them if I had not switched over to Dr V Twin because they are closer to me and if needed I can stop and pick up parts on my way home.

Getting back to the 940, my friend just put a set on his 09 SG and they seem great. I was thinking about buying a set , what do you want for them? They will sell fast at the right price.

How Much you selling the 940's for ?

http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/terms.asp

------------------------------

Terms and Conditions

Our return policy is straight forward and fair to all involved. We were once more liberal but have had too many situations where a customer would order the part and install it. Various scenarios would occur there after, either they found they ordered the wrong part# or didn't like it for whatever reason. They then called us to say it was defective when it was not or just say they wanted to exchange it and forget to tell us the part had been installed. We even covered the freight on the replacement part. This left us out of pocket for double the freight (original order plus the replacement)on what was really a single order. Then we would find that the part had been installed or wasn't defective at all which now meant we needed to sell it at a huge discount or not at all. The bottom line is this, we wouldn't be able to continue to offer the discounted prices and free shipping that we do if these needless costs aren't reeled in. All we ask is that you take the time to order the correct part, inspect them once you get it to make sure it arrived safely and the cosmetic finish is up to your satisfaction. That's all there is to it, if it's defective at this point or a manufacturers defect turns up during the install or during the warranty period we'll take care of you 100%. If you install it and find you don't like it for whatever reason, that is not something we can nor should be responsible for.
