Welcome! To get rid of the excess heat, you'll need to ditch the OEM header pipes with the cats in them. That will require a tune, and with the tune you can add more fuel. The bike won't run as lean and that will also help with the heat. It will run better as well. It's pricey, but worth it. I had the Stage 1 kit put on my bike and while it did run slightly better, it was still hot and still didn't have the sound I wanted. Don't waste your time on the Stage 1 if your goal is to get rid of the excess heat. I got my bike done today... I kept the Stage 1 air cleaner, but added true duals and aftermarket mufflers. I wish I had done that to begin with and saved some money.
X2 on what he said.
When I first got my 09 Street glide, I couldn't believe the heat.
Went with the true duals, and the Thunder max auto tune, and what a difference. way smoother, way cooler, and sounds like a HARLEY Davidson, not a honda davidson.
Also Welcome from Canada.
