gps
For years, I've used a Garmin GPS on a chrome Techmount with velcro - the Techmount looks great even when not in use. The Garmins have been through extreme heat, cold, rain, and always dependable - never even hinted at falling off or rattling loose. I simply put velcro on the plate of the techmount, and on the back of the gps... it grips great and is easy on and off when needed, plus you can easily mount anything else on the techmount with velcro if you want.
The Garmin I have now (Nuvi 1490LMT) has a 5" screen, visible in sunlight, and has a cig style plug with mini usb connection. Prior to that I had a Nuvi 265w that also worked great in the truck and on the bike. Gave that one to my daughter.
I think the velcro probably helps soften some of the vibration transferred to the gps unit - don't know, but I've never had an issue with these units mounted this way, oh, and the 5" screen is even easier to use with gloves.
