On my 2011 Ultra, 96 ci, 6000 miles, had FM put on mufflers, air filter and PC-V last month, I consistently get 40-41 mpg before and after the Stage 1.

Find out if you have the fuel mileage map. If not, get it you will get better throttle response and mileage.

Don't see how you guys do it. I average 33 mpg daily driving around the metroplex. Lots of lights. Last weekend 750 mile round trip to the Talihina scenic highway and back riding 2 up I got 37 mpg and that was a lot of 65mph county roads. 103" Stage 2 , SERT, Rhinehart TD's.

I get high 40's with my set-up. If I get some real fuel (no corn) I could get around 50 mpg. I have done a lot to my 2005 Road King. 95" with stage 2 heads, gear drive cams, Fueling oil pump and the secret weapon (2 teeth more on front drive sprocket). I also have a Thundermax that I have been custom tuning.
Those of you with 6 speed transmissions that are trying to get good mileage cruising at 55 in 6th; your bike is not going to like lugging at that low rpm.

I check my mileage at every fill up, I get between 46 - 49 mpg with TTS mastertune, Fullsac X pipe, CVO mufflers with Fullsac 2" baffles and an HD Ventilator intake.
I did the V-Tune on the bike this past spring..

V+H pipes, fuel pak and free flow intake and I get just under 50 mpg highway doing between 120-130 kms/hr in 6th gear. City I get anywhere from 40-6. Depends on my wrist. And I pretty much only use shell premium for fuel. Premium in Saskatchewan isn't polluted with ethanol. Regular is. And I don't know if this is the norm but mid-grade is a 50/50 mix of regular and premium. It doesn't have a separate tank. It's mixed at the pump. I would use chevron exclusively if we had them here. That techron is great stuff.

Last week took a 2166 mile round trip from Houston to Santa Fe to Dallas and back to Houston. I got 38.6 mpg at 70 and below on cruise. In west Texas' 80 speed limit I averaged 32 mpg. Needless to say I exceeded the posted limits just a tad bit. I don't worry about mpg. I enjoy the trip no matter what.

It may not be lugging at that speed and rpm however my bike drops to around 35 mpg if I am in 6th and doing less then 65 mph. At 55 mph I get better mileage in 5th gear than I do in 6th. My bikes sweet spot seems to be between 2500-3000 rpm. Below or above those rpms I get noticeably poorer mileage. I am not trying to flame your post. I am only pointing out that bikes will perform differently and how yours behaves will be different than others. And at 55 do you not feel like there is like zero power in 6th. I prefer to rev a bit higher. More oil pressure, more responsive. I am putting a 30 tooth gear in this winter to get more torque on the pavement. The 6th gear allows for still great mileage with that mod. Feels like you got more power and it's way simpler than cams and jugs. Jmo

Ride safe

I agree. My bikes sweet spot seems to be between 2500-3000 rpm also. For cruising. Above 3000 is hold on power.
I only have a 5 speed, so the extra teeth help spreed out the extra torque and HP I got with the build up.
If you drop 2 teeth you will be way quicker.
