Does anyone know how long it takes to install the Harley HID headlight? I'm just trying to see if I will have time to do it this weekend... Thanks in advance!!
I have the same light. Frankly I suggest you look at alternative headlights. Low beam gives a very wide beam which is great as a daytime light, but not very good to see with at night and the high beam on mine is useless at night. There have been plenty of recent threads on headlights, so take a look through them for better solutions.
LED is quickly becoming the way of the future. Both Truck Light (Kuryakyn, Custom Dynamics) make one as well as HD. Pros and cons to both. There is a really good comparison thread on here that goes into great detail.
I still don't know which I will put on. I can tell you my Caiman MRAPs I have here in Iraq have dozens of the TL style LED lights and work great at lighting up the night and trying to find IEDs and EFPs.
i put the dual element in last week (only took me about an hour including adjustment) & noticed it does through out a wider beam as well but not very bright. ive replaced the bulb (low beam) with a slightly brighter one but didnt notice any difference. i just ordered the high & low bulbs in an HID (55W high & 35W low) will see how i like this set up.
i do like the look of the dual element bulb over the stocker.
so to answer your question if you are mechanically inclined you will have no problem getting it changed & adjusted well with in a couple of hours.
hope this helps.
