Angry Harley Road Tech Navigation Interface Module

Hi
Since June this year, I've been having all sorts of problems with a Harley Road Tech Navigation Interface Module which Harley fitted as an extra to my 2010 CVO Ultra. The problem is now with Harley engineering in the USA. My question; has anyone fitted one of these interfaces to their ultra that actually works as it says on the tin!
Thanks

You need to get them to replace it with the updated nim.

There was a change in part numbers and a newer version out now. My initial guess is that you have the original one. Do a search for NIM and also check out zumoforums.com. Many thoughts on that board also.

I have installed a couple, and the one on my bike works great. When you say "actually work" what do you mean? I mean what sort of problem are you having?

I have one of the first NIM's made and actually was in with the "few of us" that had to help and resolve the original wiring mishap. Is the problem your having, have anything to do with playing mp3's, or happen while doing this?

Default Problem with the Roadtech Zumo

Hi
Thanks for the replies and sorry for the slight delay in getting back to you....touring Spain!! 2,600 miles in the Sun and not a traffic jam in sight - wonderful.

My problem is when the Zumo "gives" a direction the VOX comes on, putting both rider and pillion mikes on. When the direction is finished the VOX goes off and everything is back to normal. This is an annoyance but can be coped with. However, when there is a speed camera alert (beep), that also turns the VOX on - but frequently doesn't turn the VOX off.....meaning that the mics can be turned on for anything up to 10 minutes (I've had to turn the Zumo off to stop the damn noise). 3rd problem came to light in Spain, the Zumo is also connected to the radio auxiliary port. When you play Zumo MP3 music, the VOX comes on every 1-3 minutes for no reason whatsoever and stays on for 10 secs to 2-3 minutes - which makes using it impossible.

I am using the roadtech 660 on a CVO mount with the interface and occasionally it will keep the vox open after a direction is given. It will normally go back to normal after the next voice prompt is given, but it that is going to be a while I will power the radio off and on again. Only happens occasionally so it is a slight aggrivation.

Here is a previous thread that deals with this issue. Many of us finally got it resolved. Not sure when you purchased/installed your NIM but the one in the HD catalog should have been shelved long ago yet they keep selling/installing it.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...de-issues.html

The updated NIM you need is 83537 - 11A. That will solve the issue. Hopefully you won't have to fight tooth & nail to get it like several did.
