I'm having a bit of a muffler dilemma, and hoping some of you guys might have some ideas.
I currently have the Klockwerk Super Saver 28" mufflers on my bike. Initially they were real nice, but RIGHT after I cammed up the motor, on the first 200 mile ride at a sustained 3,000 RPM, the packing blew out. They have reached the point hwere they are jsut oo loud, and have to turn the stereo up an average of 2 bars more to listen to the tunes. a day of riding becomes irritating.
I could go with stock mufflers on the bike, and with my 2009 cat free pipe it would be quiet, I'm sure, but I'm afraid it will chocke the bike down, and I will lose power, I frankly do not want to give up.
Oval mufflers are not my thing.....I like round pipes.
If I could find a muffler that is quiet and mellow with a deep tone, I'd be happy, but I want one that won't blow the packing out.
Any experience with a good muffler after awhile? Anyone who has had a set for a few thousand miles, who can offer a good muffler that has stood the test of time and not spit it's packing out?
HD Fatshotz, not much louder than stock if any, deeper tone, free flowing and you can adjust the number of discs, which makes them louder or more quiet and moves the power band as well. Didn't know how I'd like them but both the wife and I do. The are just deep, not raspy and I have ridden 500 miles plus author having ear fatigue.
Try your stocks ones before you buy. The newer bikes had freer flowing muffs, now with the CC out it might be just what you want. I did and found a performance gain as well to my surprise.

Our baffle matting will hold up for thousands of miles. If it ever blows out just call us and we'll send you a free replacement.
We have multiple baffles sizes for our slip-on mufflers. Most people riding a '09 that I have talked to with radios or passengers are happy with the 1.75" baffle. They will make some noise if you get on it, but mellow out nicely at cruising speed. Overall the 2.00" is the most popular size, they do not mellow out as much as the 1.75".
