Yeah that or look at your plugs to see if they may be fouling a bit, otherwise I would drop the headpipes and look at the valve stems you may have a guide seal going bad, I had it before and the only way you could tell is on decel or a downshift there was a blip of smoke. Smoke would be more visible at night than daytime too.
to summarize:
if the primary is overfull- it's that seal between the motor and the primary
burning oil is WHITE smoke through the tailpipe:
on decel: is valve seals ( increased vacuum pulls oil past the seals)
on start up: is also valve seals ( oil seeps past the sealswhile the motor is stopped
on accel: is piston rings ( oil on sides of cylinders is not scraped away by rings, oil stays above piston and is burned.
a Liter ( about a US Quart ) over 2500 miles is a little high as long as you are sure the dipstick measurements are the same--- start / finish measurements
many of us run the oil a pint (1/2 a liter) low to reduce blow by or chances of the dipstick being pushed out anyway.

assuming the bike is new to you?
could be the previous owner didn't ride much and seal have dried?
I would try- just riding it, see if the seals come back and there is improvement
or switching from syn to conventional oil
OR to a higher grade, less viscous
jeez, riding season almost done?
Happy Thanksgiving!

Mine is doing the same thing. Using 1/2 quart to 2500 miles with 20-50 Amsoil. Both plugs are clean when i pull them and no smoke out exhaust, but lots of oil in a/c. Big Sucker air filter seems to be catching all of it. Wondering if breathers in heads need changed.
