Had a bud running a mid 70's FLH, about 1980. CHROME fenders, tank and all! We called him Dr. Chrome! Was a really nice looking bike all cleaned up, couldn't ride it on a sunny Kansas day, it would blind him!
If you go ALL chrome, it will be a show stopper, but not a road bike. Not sure what a chrome F fender would look like, wouldn't be too much glare in your eyes.

Had an old BSA that was chrome and black. The fenders were a bear to keep clean from all the road dirt. Of course I had plenty of time to shine them, with Lucas Electrics there was alot of down time waiting on parts.
